Mission Statement

To foster a collaborative community where parents, teachers, and staff work together to enrich the educational experience of all students, promote their well-being, and empower them to reach their full potential.

Goals

The PTO’s main goals are quite broad, to be a resource for the students and faculty of ALA.  To promote the community wellness of the school for academic excellence.

In more practical matters, the goal is to be a funding source for the school and students to obtain the equipment, supplies and tools which may go above and beyond those supplied by district of the school itself.  This may include, but is not limited to, items such as PE equipment, library books, A/V equipment, funding of field trips, unique events or speakers, funding teacher enrichment, teacher appreciation, classroom necessities, and scholarships.

Fundraising Ideas

 

The PTO will fundraise by several different means which may include, but are not limited to; donations of monies, donations of goods, donations of services, fundraising dinners, bake sales, movie nights, jog-a-thon, read-a-thon, and other special events.

August 9th 2024

During a morning school meeting "Coffee with the Principal" The idea of forming ALA PTO was begun. With approval from the Principal the perpwork began to get filed.

August 16th 2024

Advanced Learning Academy Parent Teacher Organization files as a non-profit corporation in the state of California. Approval is given on September 5th 2024 for operations.

September 6th 2024

Advanced Learning Academy Parent Teacher Organization is given its own Employer Identification number

November 26th 2024

Advanced Learning Academy Parent Teacher Organization is recognized by the IRS as a public charity under section 501(c) 3 and is effective September 5th 2024.

Board of Directors

Jeff McNeil

President / Treasurer As the founding member of the organization, Jeff has been involved with all aspects of the planning, preparation and creation of the ALA PTO since it was created in 2024.

Jennifer McNeil

Secretary Jennifer has been a supportive board member from the beginning of the organization. She has helped with many subjects including brainstorming donation methods.

Board Member Listing - Officers

The PTO is a private non-profit corporation and independent of the school & school district. School staff, administrators or teachers should not serve as officers of the PTO, but they may assist the organization in donation guidance for the most important needs of the school at the time.

  • President: Leads the group, presides over meetings and events, and acts as a liaison between the PTO and the principal and pastor. The president may also delegate tasks and oversee the leadership team. 
  • Vice president: Presided over meetings in the president’s absence and may perform the president’s duties if needed. The vice president may also chair ad hoc committees as requested by the president. 
  • Secretary: Maintains the group’s calendar and records minutes from meetings. 
  • Treasurer: Manages the organization’s funds, including money raised at events and fundraisers. The treasurer may also work with the president to create a budget and make decisions with the executive board. 
  • Communications chair: Creates and distributes PTO-related media and marketing to promote PTO events. 
  • Membership chair: Recruits parents and teachers to join the PTO. 
  • Family events chair: Oversees and coordinates family events on and off campus.
  • Fundraising chair: Selects fundraisers to raise money for the group both on and off campus.
